Unproven, but likely theories on human development

The theories below are not the majority view of most scholars. But A. V. Sloan, the developer of this website believes they will gradually become much more accepted than they are now. Political correctness (trying to show the strengths of minority cultures) has been a force against acceptance of the first two points.

1. The intelligence or IQ of racial groups varies markedly. There likely are environmental and natural selection reasons for these differences, proposed by Sloan and others.

2. Before Columbus, many cultural ideas were likely brought to the Americas by Mediterranean sailors. Aztec and other native American legends about bearded, white skinned gods who came by boat from the east are valuable clues of this cultural transmission. Books like Voyages of the Pyramid Builders by Robert Schoch provide useful connections. Could ancient Mexican leader Quetzalcoatl have come from the Mediterranean?

3. In descending from the great apes, man likely went through a transitional period of being a water-oriented mammal, such as the hippopotamus today. A water transition could explain our largely hairless bodies and the much higher levels of body fat than in other mammals. The Aquatic Ape Theory by Elaine Morgan describes the reasoning behind these ideas.
